5 stars   eBay can be the greatest place to buy video games!
Reviewer: emmzee on Tuesday August 12 2003
eBay can be the best, or it can be the worst! Just keep in mind these simple suggestions:

1) Always make sure to check the seller's feedback! I usually only buy from people who have at least 100 feedback, and if less than about 98% of that is positive, I just won't buy from them, I consider it too risky!

2) Make sure the seller will ship to your country. Check shipping costs to make sure they won't be crazy!

3) Make sure the seller will accept payment in the form you want to use, eg. check, money order, Paypal, etc. I almost always use Paypal, it's just the easiest and fastest way to pay.

As long as you're careful and buy from well rated sellers eBay can be the best place to find great deals on video games on the web!

3 stars   It's alright
Reviewer: Jordan on Tuesday August 9 2005
Ebay is okay but stuff you really want you have to hope you win. It's a 50% chance or lower, and the price goes up while your fighting for that special something. You can hope what you're looking for is "Buy it now" so you dont have to lose an arm in fighting for it by bidding but it's more expensive. All in all its okay. Just make sure you check the sellers feedback to make sure your not getting ripped off. Good luck! Vive le Dreamcast!

5 stars   GREATEST PLACE ON EARTH
Reviewer: SCOOBY D on Friday November 21 2003
EBAY HAS THE LARGEST SELECTION OF GAMES FOR BOTH CURRENT SYSTEMS AS WELL AS CLASSIC ONES AS WELL AS EVERY GAMING SYSTEM EVER MADE. I HAVE PURCHASED BOTH USED AND NEW GAMES AS WELL AS GAME SYSTEMS, BOTH CURRENT AND CLASSIC. I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM RECIEVING AN ITEM I ORDERED NOR HAVE I EVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE CONDITION OF THE GAMES OR SYSTEMS. IF YOU READ EVERYTHING CAREFULLY AND THOROUGHLY AS WELL AS CHECK NEGATIVE FEEDBACKS AND ASK SELLER QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU BUY,THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE FEW PROBLEMS.

1 star   eBay.. only good for those who feel lucky
Reviewer: T.J. Burns on Wednesday October 1 2003
I've dealt with many places online, and eBay has to be one of the worst. While it's true that you can find games cheaply on there, a fair margin of them don't work, and most times you cannot get a refund on such items.

I have personally bought about 27 different items that came either cracked, in horrible condition, or merely not working. I have also noticed many times a person will buy a lot of 'broken games' and then will relist them each individually, saying they're untested and sold as is..

If you must use eBay, please use caution and be sure to stick to auctions that provide some sort of guarantee.. As things are, most game auctions on there have an 'as is' policy, and many of these should not be trusted in the slightest.
